Paint Correction
Multi-stage machine polishing using Rupes and Flex polishers with Koch Chemie compounds to remove defects and restore your paint to its full potential.
1-Step Correction
A single polishing stage that removes light swirl marks, minor scratches, oxidation, and haze. Restores depth, gloss, and clarity to the paint.
2-Step Correction
A cutting stage followed by a refining polish to restore the paint to a higher level of perfection. The first stage removes moderate defects such as deeper swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation, while the second stage enhances gloss, clarity, and smoothness.
3-Step Correction
A comprehensive, multi-stage process aimed at achieving the highest possible level of paint perfection. Includes a heavy cutting stage to remove significant defects, a secondary polishing stage to refine the surface, and a final finishing polish to maximize gloss, depth, and clarity.
Professional Paint Correction in the Lower Mainland
Paint correction is the process of mechanically polishing your clear coat to permanently remove swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, water spots, and holograms. Unlike a wax or glaze that hides defects temporarily, a professional paint correction levels the surface so light reflects cleanly and the paint regains the depth and gloss it had when the car left the factory, often better.
Our paint correction services across Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey, Coquitlam, Richmond, Langley, and the rest of the Lower Mainland use graduated stages of cutting and finishing polishes matched to your vehicle's paint hardness. Every job starts with a decontamination wash, iron removal, and clay bar treatment so the polishing stages work on a clean surface. We measure clear coat thickness and test each panel before committing to a correction plan.
When You Need Paint Correction
If you can see spiderweb swirl marks in direct sunlight, fine scratches from automatic car washes, or a hazy finish where reflections should be sharp, paint correction will bring the paint back. Paint correction is also essential before applying a long-term ceramic coating, because any defect left in the paint gets sealed under the coating and becomes much harder to address later.

Car Detailing Questions
Common questions about our detailing services, pricing, and process.
How much does car detailing cost?
Car detailing pricing depends on the vehicle size, condition, and service level chosen. A basic detail covers a thorough vacuum, wipe down, exterior wash, and wheel cleaning. A full detail adds steam cleaning, stain removal, leather conditioning, and a clay and seal exterior treatment. Ceramic coating and paint correction are quoted separately based on your vehicle. Contact us for a free estimate.
What is the difference between a car wash and car detailing?
A car wash is a surface-level cleaning that removes dirt and grime from the exterior. Car detailing is a comprehensive cleaning and restoration process that addresses every surface of the vehicle, inside and out. Detailing includes paint decontamination, interior deep cleaning, protection application, and correction of paint defects. The result is a vehicle that looks and feels like it just left the showroom.
How long does ceramic coating last?
A professionally applied ceramic coating typically lasts 2 to 5 years depending on the product used and how well the vehicle is maintained. We use Gyeon professional-grade ceramic coatings that provide long-lasting protection against water, dirt, UV damage, and environmental contaminants. A maintenance wash every 2 to 4 weeks keeps the coating performing at its best.
What is paint correction and do I need it?
Paint correction is the process of machine polishing the clear coat to remove swirl marks, scratches, oxidation, and other surface defects. If your paint looks dull, has visible swirl marks in direct sunlight, or has scratches from automatic car washes, paint correction will restore the depth and gloss. We offer 1-step, 2-step, and 3-step correction depending on severity.
Do you detail boats, RVs, and aircraft?
Yes. Gunn Cleaning Service details cars, trucks, SUVs, boats, RVs, and aircraft. Our mobile setup is designed to handle vehicles of all sizes. We have detailed everything from compact cars to Cessna aircraft. Contact us for a custom quote based on the size and condition of your vehicle.
How often should I get my car detailed?
We recommend a full detail every 3 to 6 months, with maintenance washes in between. Vehicles with ceramic coating benefit from lighter maintenance washes every 2 to 4 weeks. If your vehicle is parked outdoors, near trees, or driven frequently on highways, more frequent detailing helps maintain the paint and interior condition.
